Although Alberta is fully open as of this posting date, we at Play the Fool and the producing body, Hit That Jive Productions are taking a cautious approach to our September 2021 programming.
The good news is, we expect to be live and in-person this September at the Backstage Theatre for the Play the Fool Festival 2021!
Our plans
- We are scaling back our in-person live performances. For the first time, we have not held an open call for acts. We have invited 6 diverse, local performers to perform short solo works.
- In-person live performances will happen Friday Sept 24 & Saturday Sept 25 evenings only.
- We are not planning any cabarets, nor our beloved Rookie Cabaret. This makes us very sad. But we believe it’s the wisest choice at this time.
- We will have some online and on-demand presentations! Including our Sunday expert discussion panel.
- For the first time, we hope to have official PtF Festival workshops. We expect one will be in-person on Saturday afternoon, and another online.
- We are currently chatting with a partner to offer some Saturday afternoon outdoor family entertainment.
